The Modern Day Publius project seeks to unify reasonable Americans around a few key issues that will ensure the stability of our nation, the preservation of our liberties, and save our free-market economy.
In 1787, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay unified under the pseudonym "Publius” to write a series of essays (“The Federalist Papers”) defending the ratification of the Constitution. Publius was a general credited with saving the early Roman republic several times from tyranny and military subjugation.
Although the three men disagreed on a great many matters of policy, they understood the importance of unifying around a foundational document that would ensure a strong centralized government that maintained check and balances and protections to the people from tyranny both domestic and abroad.
Our world is on fire. There is an undercurrent of rebellion that cannot be denied.
For far too long, corrupt, entrenched, elites have run our country into the ground, refusing to solve basic problems and repeatedly sweeping important issues under the rug to ensure re-election. Our problem in America isn’t between right and left, it is between right and wrong.
Unfortunately, modern progressives have seized upon this sentiment and convinced an entire generation that the answer to government corruption is more government control. Over the last few decades, progressives have quietly seized almost complete control of our media and education system. As a result, all other messages are labeled as fringe or hate-speech. Regardless of where you stand politically, diversity of opinion is vital to a thriving democracy.
Because no one wants to be a social pariah, millions of Americans have succumbed to self-censorship. Even worse, those brave enough to speak out are censored by global social media conglomerates that have a monopoly on discourse in the public square. Those who break through the noise are often “cancelled” by a culture that changes its barometer of what is acceptable every month.
Enough is enough. It is time for America to rise up.
We must rally around a few self-evident truths and not get lost in the weeds and minutia of individual policy decisions.
Whether we like it or not, we are in the midst of a societal shift. This can either be a painful transition into the end of Western Civilization as we know it, OR it can be an opportunity to reign in corruption and restore our nation to its former glory.
Over the next several months, we will be publishing a series of anonymous essays from individuals from across the reasonable political spectrum. Please take a moment to subscribe to our email list below to receive them.
You are not alone and we will win this fight. We can’t afford not to.
